I was born in Flemington New Jersey and raised in rural Central Pennsylvania. I graduated from Wyalusing Valley Junior-Senior High School in 1985. I started my medical career in 1990 as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an area skilled nursing home and then studied and tested to be an Emergency Medical Technician. Finding I wanted to further my medical knowledge and career, I enrolled in the Bradford County Area Vocational-Technical School of Practical Nursing, graduating in 1994, receiving the Class Award along with my Practical Nursing Diploma; sat for, and passed my Practical Nursing boards September 1994. Continuing that hunger for more knowledge, I have enrolled with The College Network (Excelsior College) to work towards my associates degree so that I may someday sit for my RN boards. I have worked in many areas in the nursing field since my licensure, but I seem to keep coming back to Home Health/ Home Care primarily in pediatrics. However, I have had experience in the past in hospital critical care, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and as a medical management nurse doing pre certification/concurrent review and out of network (national and international) care coordination.
I have been happily married to my husband for 3 years, have a grown daughter who lives in Ohio and have just recently re-located to the Houston, Texas area with my husband and our two dogs.
I am excited to be able to utilize my nursing experiences, the love of educating others and the love of traveling to new places and meeting new people all at the same time with Global Association for Homecare & Compliance! |
